Solar System Mural

The world renowned Museum of Flight in Seattle invited me to create an original space art mural
for their new space exhibit. The completed mural is now featured prominently
in the planetary exploration section of the Museum’s new space exhibit
which opened to the public on June 10, 2007.

My digital image has been printed to a size of 16-feet tall by 8-feet wide
and covers a wall of the exhibit. The planets are drawn to scale with Jupiter being 5-feet wide.

The museum requested that I create as accurate a representation as possible,
so the solar system mural is complete with all eight planets,
three dwarf planets, plus the Sun and our Moon.

I hope those of you in the Seattle area will have the chance to enjoy this
artwork of astronomical proportions in person. The space exhibit has been
added as a permanent display at the museum.  Just “planet” in your schedule.

Information about the exhibit can be found on the Museum of Flight's web site. (more) (opens new window)
